Recent Project

 

  1. Hadera waste water treatment plant 30,000 – 45,000 m3/day, design, supervision & management of operation team – 6 years. A large regional plant based on Conventional Activated Sludge technology. (Association with Severn Trent Water Intl UK)

 

  1. Netofa WWTP 2,500 – 10,000 m3/day, design, supervision on construction & operation. A regional treatment plant based on Sequential Continuous Reactor technology. (Association with Severn Trent Water – regarding operation & monitoring procedures and EartTech UK – Cass division , regarding the extended aeration activated sludge process in continuous sequential reactors). Design of main collection sewers to the plant including 6 large sewage pumping stations and sewage collection networks serving population in towns ranging between 600 to 20,000. The WWTP serves a total 30,000 population expected to grow to 60,000 over the next 20 years.

 

  1. Beit Shean 18,000 – 24,000 m3/day, design international DBOT tender (Yodfat assisted by senior process staff in Severn Trent Water). The scheme included design of municipal sewage network for 20,000 to 40,000 population and regional sewage collection of 60km with 15 coordinated pumping stations. It also included the design of a central treatment facility for cowshed manure planned to be trucked from 10 farms in the area.

 

  1. Lochamey Hagetaot – Tivol food industries (soya beans products) & Maaleh cowshed (600 cows) – 3000 m3/day, design & supervision. Scheme included design of water networks in the towns being served by the plant and sewage networks with pumping stations to the plant. Treated effluent is diverted to a 500,000 m3 reservoir (compacted earth embankments with HDPE sealing liners. A scheme of effluent reuse (1.1 million m3 and 275 hectar farming, was also designed and operated.

 

  1. Beit Shemesh – NVIRO sludge treatment plant , 120 t/day, design & supervision on behalf of Nesher Israel Cement Manufacturers (Cooperation with Yaarah Israel & Nviro Intl UK)

 

  1. Gaza Industrial Estate WWTP 3,000 m3/day – Feb. 1998 (with Severn Trent Water Intl.UK, Massoud & Ali Contracting Gaza and Dr Mohammed Sager.

 

  1. Municipal sewerage networks in Israel – Acco (50,000 pop), Beit Shean (30,000 pop) Haifa (a part of the city network in Kiryat Elyezer some 60,000 pop out of 300,000, Hadera (100,000 pop), Pardess Hanna Karkur (35,000 pop), Caucab (3000 pop), Beir el Maksur (20,000 pop). Petach Tikva (200,000 pop) and other towns & villages – total over 500,000 pop.

 


     
  1. Irrigation schemes in Israel and internationally – 37 projects over 33,000 Ha in Israel, from 1992 to 1995 in Azerbaidjan, Tadjikistan, Kazacgstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgistan and over the years in India, Poland, Phillipines, Vietnam, Panama, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, Morrocco and Mauritania.

 

  1. Effluent Reservoirs – Four effluent reservoirs in Israel, each of 500,000 m3 and four runoff reservoirs near Kiryat Ata & Kiryat Bialik Israel total of 2,000,000 m3 including a scheme of the water infiltration, enriching the local aquifer.

 

  1. Regional effluent supply schemes – National projects for the north of Israel, Western Galilee, central Israel - Hadera region, east - Jordan valley, south of Israel - Negba and north west - Carmel coast. Schemes designed either for Israel Water Commissioner office or private entrepreneurs.

 

  1. Flood relief schemes – Haifa bay, regulation of the Kishon River and technological survey of ways to treat & dispose of heavily contaminated sediments historically disposed into the river.

 

  1. Box jacking tunnel in artificially frozen soil , Haifa - Israel (two concrete elements of 1800t each, with soil stabilization by freezing, for the deviation of the Gedora Canal (near the Kishon River), allowing continuous traffic and infrastructure operation (gas, fuel, water, sewage, electricity etc). Project carried out on behalf of the Kishon Drainage Authority. Design  and project management received Israel’s prize of 2002 on behalf of the Construction & Builders association. Following public international tender, Yodfat cooperated with VSL Switzerland, JMB France, BDF Ltd UK Alan Auld Associates UK and Charles Haswell & Partners UK and Yaarah Israel. The project was officially presented by Yodfat Engineers (the leading engineering company) at the British Tunneling Society, in the Institution of Civil Engineers, London and awarded the first prize for 2001 – 2002 in construction excellence, on behalf of the Israeli Builders and Contractors Association.

 

  1. Kishon River master plan, Haifa Israel – cooperation with Nicholas Pearson & Partners from Bath UK, planning of water related activities and “by the water side” planning and development.

 

  1. Acco and Faradeis, emergency urban flood relief schemes, Israel. Studies and detailed design (in the case of Acco) for Israel's Water Commissionaire Office.

 

  1. Feasibility study - marine intake for desalination (30,000m3/hr, 1000m long, from a depth of 15m) for the sea water desalination plant in Ashkelon, Israel (100 million m3) using pipe jacking or HDD compared to HDPE pipes laying on the sea bottom.( Client – OTV Vivendi and IDE Israel. Marine intake proposal prepared by Yodfat with de la Motte, Germany and Herrenknecht, Germany).

 

  1. Solid waste regulated landfill – supervision on behalf of the Israel Ministry of Environment, Ebelyn – Israel.(500 t/day)

 

  1. Solid waste regulated landfill design (1000 t/day) in tender preparation at the Dudaim site, in the south of Israel (Yodfat worked with Mourik Groot Ammers, Holland).

 

  1. Solid waste regulated landfill – rehabilitation and closing of old site cells, design of gas collection system, electrical energy recovery from that gas & leachate treatment facility, at the Evron site in Israel - new (with Yaarah Engineering Israel and Golder Associates, from Denver Colorado USA, leading engineer of the project)

 

  1. International municipal solid  waste – compaction & baling, wrapping, terrestrial & marine transportation, landfills in rehabilitated open mines, leachate treatment, gas collection and reuse, recycling of materials (new).- For the MRFG group headed by Mr Ofer Tsimhy. Yodfat Engineers serves as technical director on behalf of the group. The project will deal with initial 3,000t/day and gradually grow to deal with 20,000t/day from Guyana, The Carribean Islands, New York City USA and Eastern Coast Cities as well as Carribean Tourism Cruisers and US Military vessels.The project will be carried out with the following international companies: Golder Associates USA, Landfall Marine Transportation, the Netherlands, Rail & Truck – terrestrial transportation USA, Bollegraaf – materials sorting systems, the Netherlands, EGT baling systems, Italy and others. The project will also include an important component of solid waste incineration/gasification for the production of electrical energy in Guyana, currently a commodity in shortage. The currently unreliable power supply generated by diesel generators, needs to be upgraded via this project, in Georgetown, all along the Guyana coastline and in the country's industrial centers.

 

  1. Derby UK – sewerage scheme and flood relief, design of outlets to the Derwent River and sewerage/drainage network for Severn Trent Water (200,000 pop.). Yodfat worked for Charles Haswell & Partners, subsidiary of Severn Trent Water and lead designer of sewage and water networks for Severn Trent Water, responsible for some 90,000km of pipe and tunnels network, serving 8 million population in the Midlands UK.

 

  1. Leek, Rugeley, Tamworth, Cannock (towns of 30,000 to 150,000 pop) – sewerage networks schemes and modeling for Severn Trent Water UK, working for Charles Haswell & Partners.

 

  1. Tel Aviv Israel sewerage eastern tunnel – evaluation of international tunneling contracting proposals with Severn Trent Water Intl. & Charles Haswell & Partners. The scheme dealt with a 12km tunnel of 1.60m diam. Out of a total main sewage collector of 20km.

 

  1. Drainage tunnel design, Hertzel Str Netanya - Israel with Charles Haswell & Partners UK and Delta Engineering UK – 900m long at 1.80m diameter with 3 shafts at 5 to 25m depth.

 

  1. International tunneling design work with Charles Haswell & Partners UK including sewerage deep tunnel in Singapore, subway tunneling in Seoul South Korea, refurbishment works design of the Blackwall Tunnel underneath the Thames in London, Dufferin Str box jacking project in Canada, inspection of existing London Underground tunnels, Limerick Main Drainage scheme Ireland, design in the new Dartford Cable tunnel in London, under the Thames and tender preparations for the Marina Line in Singapore.

  1. Nagua – Dominican Republic (a town & rural area –300 l/sec and slow 70 l/sec, water and sewage municipal networks. Consultant to Merhav Group Israel.

 

  1. Desalination of brackish springs – Beit Shean valley,Israel with Black & Veatch UK and with Afikey Maym Water Association - 1,200 m3/hr RO (brackish sources) for potable water supply either to Israel or the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and 900 m3/hr sand filtration of Jordan river water for agricultural reuse.

( Yodfat hired by Binnie Black & Veatch UK in association with Afikey Maym, Beit Shean Water Company, Israel). The scheme included design of super intensive fish farms (Tilapia) producing over 100t, in closed systems using a very small foot print and using only 5% of the water usually used in open systems, through intensive water treatment.

 

  1. Desalination of sea water – Hadera, Israel – project development - planning of 30 million m3/year and development up to 400 million m3, including marine intake, tunnels , marine outfall and connection to the national water network (RO and possible hybrid plant with construction of new gas power plants in the future). (Yodfat working as consultant of the City of Hadera)

 

  1. Desalination – failed attempt to form  a consortium with the Elias Group from New York USA for the new SWRO plant at the Hadera IEC premises (GE Capital and Befesa Spain) – SWRO 100 million m3/year (Due to the acquisition of Ionics by GE)

 

  1. Desalination – small boreholes of 100 –150 m3/hr Maagan Michael – Israel design with Osmonics USA (through it's Norway branch) – in retrospective one of the last projects Osmonics conducted independently before it has been re incorporated within General Electric.

Gaza strip , serving over 1,500,000 population. The Group primarily led by

Severn Trent in 2001 had to re-bid due to Severn Trent renouncing

participation. The Group was awarded the contract in May 2005 being led at

present by Amiantit Inframan

44    Single remote houses, hotels and commercial centers – wastewater treatment - Cooperation with Clearwater UK regarding small waste water plants of up to 1000 pop, for remote single houses, remote fast food restaurants, remote leisure complex and nature preservation visitor centers. 45    Rostov – Southern Russia, consultants to ARI Kefar Charuv, Israel – entrepreneurial department of this leading air control valves manufacturer, dealing with water supply projects in the Russian Federation. Current project – water supply from the Don River to the City of Rostov in southern Russia,  refurbishment of a large pumping station (4X 4,000 m3/hr) and 40 km of 1,200mm down to 600mm pressure main.

 

46    Ecuador – design and operation consulting for Santo Domingo water filtration plant of 1,000 m3/hr in cooperation with Hightech Ecuador Limited for the Ecuadorian National Fund and the local water company.

 

47    Ecuador – details proposals for commercialization of municipal water & sewage utilities in Quevedo, Portoviejo and Santo Domingo, in cooperation with Dr Silvio Heller and Banco del Pichincha.

 

48    Small hydro electric power plants 3-5 Mwatt , for the rural area in Guayana, South America in cooperation with ETG Limited , Georgetown.

 

49    Medium  hydro electric power plant 100 Mwatt for Kibutz Maayan Baruch, in the upper Galilee – Golan Heights, Israel  Project in process.

 

50    Technical consultants to APAX Ltd  UK (venture capital in private equity) for the Company's evaluation in entering water infrastructure projects in Israel. Prospects of cooperation with Severn Trent Water, Black & Veatch, CHASE Manhattan Bank and others. APAX did not enter in this market but purchased the Israeli Telephone Company (unfortunately – not as a result of Yodfat's involvement)

 

51    Israel’s Ministry of Interior – Arch. Arie Rahamimov – participation in the overall planning of Eshkol 5 – the Israeli arab towns of Taibe, Kalansuwa and Tira – water, wastewater, solid waste and drainage.

 

52    Angola Africa – working for the Israeli MAD Agricultural Projects Development and LR Avionic Group. Development of the Uacu Cungo Valley, development of the 15,000 hectares valley with an industrial park and regional services for 7 new villages: The design includes detailed planning of  roads & traffic, electricity infrastructure and energy center, water supply network and water treatment center, sewage collection network and sewage treatment center, drainage system, construction & solid waste disposal facilities. The design also includes detailed plans for various buildings such as control center, gas & energy center, metal workshop & warehouse, eggs incubator & storing facility, poultry abbatoir, meat products industries, dairy products industries, vegetable sorting facilities, animal feed mill & different silos. Project in construction at present.

 

53    Uzbekistan – Tashkent and Samarkand (new). Development of a proposed scheme aimed to upgrade existing facilities of municipal sludge treatment, build new anaerobic digestion facilities, collect the biogas and reuse it for public transportation, following bottling. The project was carried out in partnership with Amiwater - Inframan Austria of the Amiantit Group but ultimately did not materialize.

 

54    Papoa New Guinea– A large project of Regional Development in Balimo (near the Aramia river) in which Yodfat Engineers serves as technical director and infrastructure designer, on behalf of M.A.D Intl. Agricultural Trade Development Co, Israel. (The company with which we worked in Angola).

     The project includes a new Agricultural School, an Agricultural Logistics Center,           design and realization of new modernized orchards, green houses, rice industry,      modern animal farming (cattle, pigs, poultry) and fish farms.

    The infrastructure design includes all water treatment and supply systems, all      sanitation systems (sewers, sewage treatment and effluent reuse), roads, electrical

    power generation (including biogas to power) and electricity supply network, an            Aramia river port for ships of 2,000t and the upgrade of the Balimo local airport.

 

55.  Mauritania, Water supply from Aftout Essahli (Senegal River) to Nouakchott            180,000 m3/day, 6 km (2x 43") to Beni Nadji  Pre- Treatment plant for the raw water,           170 km (54"), main water Treatment Plant near Nouakchott for potable quality level,             to be used by approx.1 million people. The project is financed by the Arab Fund for            Economical and Social Development (AFESD), the Saoudian Fund for Development, Kowait Fund for Arab Economic Development and Islamic Development Bank    (ISDB).We work under Tayuma Gibraltar as project coordinator under Amiwater   (Amiantit Group – Saudi Arabia) with Preussag Wasser & Abwassertechnik PWT –             Frankfurt & JR International from Hamburg, both subsidiaries of the Amiantit Group.     The project bid in it's current status, has been coordinated by us on behalf of the            Amiantit Group. After 6 months work, the Saudi Group, however decided to pull out         from the project.

 Jan 2005 (new) and with Dr Mohammed Sager.

 

57.    Central Gaza WWTP – 80,000 m3/day, a KfW project with Preussag Wasser

     & Abwassertechnik GmbH Frankfurt, PWT Germany . TOR published in Dec

      2005. Prequalification proposal of PWT (subsidiary of the Amiantit Group) –

 in joint venture agreement with Dr Sager and Tayuma Gibraltar – approved in

 March 2005.(new). Approx. budget 70 million € Project on hold due to the results of

 elections in the Palestinian Autonomy of Gaza.

 

58.  South Africa – Nelsprit, a new project of Tilapia farms developed in Cooperation with Saki Israelite Agricultural Company, in South Africa.

 

59.  Matansa – Buenos Aires, Argentina , a new project for the design and construction of a new WWTP for 80,000 m3/day, financed by the Inter American Development Bank, to serve a population of 270,000. Yodfat Engineers is the intl. project coordinator and achieved the cooperation agreement between Severn Trent Water UK and Befesa Spain, along with Cartellone & Pypsa Argentinian Construction Contractors and with Maragua Project Management, in Buenos Aires. Following the establishment of contacts, the group could not proceed due to a delay in the Govt decision to pursue.

 

60.  Ben Gurion Intl Airport Israel- WWTP using MBR technologyfor 3,500 m3/day going up to 5,000 m3/dayin second development stage – design in an unsuccessful bid.

 

61.  Kuwait for a tender by the US Armypersonnel – 5,000 to 10,000 pop MBR project (using truck size containers) treating 1,200 m3/day and biological loading of 290 kg BOD/day. Proposal prepared with COPA  from the UK (back in 2004 – the new owner of Aquator – Kubota)

 

62.  R&D project financed by the European Community within the 6th Framework Program (Priority 3)  with KEMA from the Netherlands, regarding anti global warming measures, in this case nanofiltration of CO2 emissions from Power Plants. New project recently submitted and recently approved . Yodfat Engineers made the introduction between the Israel Electricity Corporation and KEMA and is due to participate in this new project financed by the European Community, during the next three years starting Dec 2006.The project will include research, development of membrane and applicable technology and running of pilot plants.

 

63.  Tel Aviv Sludge Incineration Plant – with Lurgi, Severn Trent Water Intl and Shtang/Zur Shamir. Yodfat Engineers is currently bidding for the  DBFO project launched by "Mey Ezor Dan" the owner of the SHAFDAN  Waste Water Treatment Plant, for Tel Aviv and it's neighboring cities, all comprising of the Dan Region  Town Association (serving a population of 1,250,000). The plant treats 350,000 m3/day DWF and it is producing 15,000 m3/day of liquid sludge (0.5% DS), presently disposed to the sea. The Dan Region just started to build a sludge treatment plant that would produce some 375 m3/day of some 20% DS sludge. The group, comprising of Yehuda Shtang & Sons Contracting, Zur Shamir Finance – Israel, Severn Trent Water Intl / Yodfat Engineers and Lurgi Lentjies AG from Germany, is bidding for the DBFO of the sludge incineration (27,380 TDS/year – sludge of 100%DS).

 

64.  Red Sea - Dead Sea project with Halliburton q Kellog Brown & Root, Houston Texas - feasibility study aimed to re evaluate the environmental rehabilitation of the Dead Sea, initiate power (using the 400m topographical drop) and desalination (of the Red Sea waters), initiate regional economical development in Israel, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and potentially Palestinian Authority. Yodfat Engineers works on this project as Israeli representatives of Halliburton – Kellog Brown & Root from Houston Texas, USA.

 

65.  Peoples Republic of China – AWTS , the water and environment division of Asia Group, Beijing. Yodfat Engineers has been nominated to work as Director of AWTS in it's activities in PR China. In this position, we have started the following projects:

65.  Golf & Resort Hotel Penina (5 stars) , Algarve Region, Portugal (Portiomao- Faro) south west -  Forte Meridien Group – alternative water supply for the Golf courses 700,000m2 and for the hotel 200 rooms. Due to repeating water shortages in the Algarve region (in 1995) Yodfat Engineers was invited to propose a solution and design the recommended solutions. We have evaluated the various needs of water supply for the hotel, the required qualities/salinities and required quantities, the available quantities and qualities of different water sources in the region, availability and economical value of various technology application and made recommendations. Brackish water from the Bravadura river estuary (near the Atlantic Ocean) was evaluated as well as treated sewage effluent from Portimao, mixture of the two etc. All in view of the strict quality limitations for the sophisticated agronomy and irrigation of      the golf lawns as well as those environmental limitations in regard with health      protection of the hotel visitors.

67.  Barbados, the Carribeans – bidding for the Barbados Water Authority projects, regarding desalination of sea water and brackish water, wastewater treatment and effluent reuse for agriculture as well as for the local prestigious hotel industry with it's golf courses, horse racing events etc.Yodfat Engineers was nominated by both Severn Trent Water Intl of the UK and Befesa / Abengoa Group , Spain to lead their joint consortium. Yodfat Engineers has evaluated the desalination plant at Spring Garden (north of Bridgetown) and the two WWTP's in Bridgetown ( Lakes Folley and Graeme Hall), has reviewed geo hydrological information of the Island and evaluated agricultural reuse of effluent.

     southern Israel) design engineers for the water and wastewater infrastructure of the

     newly  planned hotel.

72.  Blades Technologies Israel (Iskar Group) , Naharya and Tefen in the north of Israel – BTI one of the world's largest manufacturere of precision forged and machined airfoil blades and vanes for jet engines, recently hired Yodfat (in cooperation with it's UK professional partners) to consult them in regard with BTI's trade effluent flows treatment. 75.  Greenwater Israel and US Magnegas Inc USA - Yodfat has been invited to act as technical adviser in the group's  efforts to launch the operations of an Environmental Services Company in Israel, that would recycle hazardous liquid and crude oil into magne gas and magne – hydrogen, using a plasma technology invented by Prof Santilli and the US MagneFuels Inc.
